Company Background
Personal Touch Computing was established in 1992. Its main focus was on-site delivery of desktop training to corporate clients. In 1996 Added Advantage was established, to provide small group training to the SME client base of Global Z-Data and Moores Rowland. In 2000 Personal Touch Computing and Added Advantage merged in order to deliver a better service to their customers.
Added Advantage has been growing from strength to strength as a preferred service provider for many organisations.
Added Advantage Today: Empowered Company
October 2005, Libulisa Investments CC, a black female owned company, entered into an agreement with Added Advantage Academy as an enterprise development for a period of six months. The common objective were:
At the end of the agreement, Lindiwe acquired 17% shares from the company thus making Added Advantage Academy 26% Black Economic Empowerment Company.

Desktop Application Training
Added Advantage Academy provides a wide variety of instructor led short courses. (See schedule below.) The added advantage is our ability to customise the material to suit the company’s needs as well as create modular workshops that focus on specific skills within a desktop application.

Added Advantage Academy assists companies to create standard job profiles. Workshops involving our consultants, employees and management are used to establish the desired profiles.

Skills Assessment
Added Advantage is accredited with the ISETT Seta and a certified ICDL training and testing centre.
At Added Advantage, learners can be assessments on the core unit standards for the National Certificate in IT: End User Computing – NQF 3 and can write the ICDL exams.

Added Advantage Academy provides a free month’s telephonic support. Other options are dedicated telephonic support or onsite support personnel.
Training Reports
Added Advantage Academy will provide training reports to the company as well as regular feedback. All delegates evaluate our performance and the trainer assesses all delegates.
Reports can be provided for all employees who have completed pre-assessment, training or post evaluations with Added Advantage.

Our Facilities
Added Advantage Academy is situated in the heart of the Berea in Durban. Our Durban location is Mazars House, 197 Peter Mokaba Road, Morningside. We have air-conditioned training rooms equipped with the latest computer equipment and secure client parking facilities.
Onsite Training
We offer on site training at clients’ premises.
Added Advantage Academy General Terms and Conditions
Course Bookings
Course bookings should be made at least 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the course. Bookings take place on a first come first serve basis. Bookings are only confirmed once Added Advantage Academy has received a signed, completed booking form. Companies wishing to book delegates on any course must provide a company order number with the booking form.
Course Cancellations
Course cancellations and rescheduling must be made two (2) working days prior to the commencement of the course. Delegates are liable for a 50% cancellation fee if the above condition is not met. Notification of cancellation must be made in writing i.e. letter, fax to Added Advantage Academy. Non-attendance or late arrival (45 minutes) after the commencement of the course without cancellation will make the delegate liable for the full course fee.
Rescheduling of course dates
Added Advantage Academy reserves the right to reschedule, if the minimum number of students for a particular course is not achieved. This option will only be taken in extreme circumstances.
Assessment and Examination Bookings
Assessment and Examination bookings must be made five (5) workings days prior to the requested date. Cancellation of a booked assessment or exam must be done two (2) working days prior to set date. The assessment /exam will only be booked once a completed booking form has been received by Added Advantage Academy.
Course Times
Meals
Light refreshments are provided at tea breaks. Lunch meals can be purchased in advance or on the day of training.
Parking
Secure parking is provided free at our premises.
Messaging
Cell phones are to be turned off in the training rooms. Telephone messages can be taken and will be given to students at break-times.
